Kirk D. Klenk, 63, of White Township, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 2, 2015 at his home.
Born on February 21, 1952 in Ewing Twp., NJ, he was the son of the late H. Edward and Ruth Reichert Klenk.
Kirk was an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway Twp., NJ for over 25 years before retiring. He was a graduate of Trenton State College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1972 to 1975.
Kirk was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere where he currently was an elder and served as a deacon.
Kirk was Past Commander of William H. Flatt American Legion, Lake Hopatcong, NJ; Past Commander and Chaplin of American Legion Post 131, Belvidere, NJ; Sons of the American Legion, Belvidere, NJ. He was a member of the Blairstown Lodge #165 F & A.M. where he served as Chaplin; Mansfield Lodge #36, Washington, NJ. He was a certified driver for the Belvidere Ambulance Corps and a past chairman of the White Township Boy Scout Troop #146. Kirk was a talented wood turner.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Jane Hensler Klenk; stepsons, Greg Myers and his wife Jennifer of Turin, NY, Steven Myers and his wife Caroline of Bangor, PA ,Jonathan Myers and his wife Angie of St. Cloud, FL; grandchildren, Bridgette, Andy, Robert, Gregory, Katrina, Sam, Emma, and Max.
A Masonic Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere, 224 Mansfield Street, Belvidere, NJ, followed by a Memorial Service and Military Honors. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to the time of service at the church.
